The Samac Brown Bolt Down Post Support for 100 x 100mm posts is a surface-mounted post holder for situations where a timber post needs to be fixed to an existing hard base rather than buried directly in the ground. The square holder is sized for a 100 x 100mm post and is fixed through its base plate using suitable anchors for the supporting surface.

This type of support is useful on sound concrete and other suitable structural bases where excavation is impractical or unnecessary. It keeps the end of the post above the surrounding surface and provides a defined fixing point for the post. If your project instead requires a post to be installed into soil, compare the options in our fence post spikes and supports range before choosing the fixing method.

The support has a brown protective finish intended to sit unobtrusively alongside timber. Before installation, check that the base is solid, level and capable of accepting the anchors you plan to use. The holding strength of a bolt-down support depends heavily on the substrate and fixings, so it should not be treated as a way to compensate for weak paving, loose blocks or a thin, unsupported surface.

The 100mm size must be matched to the actual post section. It is intended for compatible 100 x 100mm timber posts, including appropriately sized products from our wooden fence posts range. Position the support carefully before drilling so the post will stand plumb and the fence line or structure remains correctly aligned.
