Our concrete repair spurs are specifically designed to reinforce an existing wooden fence post that has weakened, rotted or broken around ground level while the rest of the fence remains worth retaining.
The concrete component is installed alongside the existing timber post. Once the spur has been fixed securely in position, the remaining sound section of wooden post is fastened to it so the repair support takes over from the weakened area around ground level.
There are two sizes in our range. The 75 x 75mm Concrete Repair Spur is approximately 40 inches long, while the 100 x 100mm version is approximately 50 inches long and provides the larger repair section. The appropriate size should be selected around the post and fence being repaired rather than assuming the larger spur is always required.
A concrete repair spur should therefore not be confused with a product for repairing a damaged concrete fence post. Its purpose is to use a concrete support beside an existing timber post so a localised ground-line failure does not automatically require dismantling an otherwise serviceable fence bay.
