Yes. A concrete repair spur is specifically intended for situations where a wooden fence post has weakened, rotted or broken around ground level but the remaining post, rails and panel are still worth keeping.
The spur is installed beside the existing timber post and secured to it after the concrete support has been firmly fixed. This transfers support away from the damaged ground-line section without automatically dismantling the whole fence bay.
We supply a 75 x 75mm repair spur at approximately 40 inches long and a larger 100 x 100mm version at approximately 50 inches. The larger spur should not simply be chosen by default. The dimensions and condition of the post being repaired should determine which option is appropriate.
A repair spur also depends on sound timber remaining above the failed section. If the post is badly split well above ground level, loose throughout its length or unable to hold the required fixings, replacing the post may be more appropriate. Bolts are not included with the repair spurs.
