Does full-height horizontal slatted trellis provide complete privacy?

Quick Answer

No. The 1.83m-high version gives the strongest screening effect in our horizontal slatted trellis range, but the horizontal openings remain part of the design, so it is filtered screening rather than a solid privacy barrier.

No. Increasing horizontal slatted trellis to full fence height gives more screening area, but it does not remove the openings between the horizontal timber.

Our 1.83m x 1.83m Slatted Trellis is the full-height version of the range. At 1830mm high and 1830mm wide, it creates the strongest screening effect among our horizontal slatted trellis sizes and makes the horizontal pattern a major part of the boundary.

It remains an open trellis construction rather than a solid-boarded fence panel. The horizontal gaps continue to allow light and visibility through the panel, so increasing the height should not be confused with converting the design into complete privacy fencing.

This distinction applies when choosing between horizontal slatted trellis and a solid panel. Use the slatted design where a full-height horizontal screen with deliberate openness is wanted; use a solid fencing construction where closing the view is the main requirement.
