Is the East Coast Fencing double slatted garden gate fully private?

Quick Answer

No. Our double slatted garden gate is designed to reduce direct sight lines, but small openings remain between the horizontal slats, so it provides screening rather than a completely solid privacy barrier.

No. The East Coast Fencing double slatted garden gate provides substantial screening, but it is intentionally not a completely solid gate. Its horizontal double slatted construction reduces direct sight lines while leaving small openings through the design.

The 1.8m x 0.9m Framed Contemporary Double Slatted Garden Gate is manufactured by East Coast Fencing. It measures 1.8m high by 900mm wide with an overall depth of 45mm.

The timber is pressure treated in a green/natural finish and has a semi-planed surface. The horizontal slat arrangement is the key feature: it gives the gate a closer screened appearance than an open picket design, while the deliberate spaces prevent it from becoming a completely closed timber face.

This makes the gate particularly relevant where the adjoining boundary uses the same contemporary pattern. It can be paired visually with our double slatted fence panels to continue the horizontal design across the entrance and fence run.

Customers requiring a completely solid gate should therefore not assume that double slatted means fully closed. Other styles can be compared under decorative garden gates.
